Logistics & Timing
Fund raising initiatives are the current priority since the requisite match funding including donations and/or pledges must be in place by March 2009.
In conjunction with the CWRP and project team is involved in further development work on Access, Audience and Training Plans, which have been funded by the HLF and will be completed in January 2009.
A further Application, supported by the completion of further development work and firm contractors quotations, described above, will be made by CWRP to the HLF in March 2009 to secure funding, earmarked in March 2008.
Pending submission of the HLF application, engineering consultants and contractors are being reviewed together with their original plans, timescales and cost estimates.
If CWRP is successful in securing HLF funding, a project officer (non-engineering) will be appointed in April 2009.
The Option to purchase the Weir will exercised when funding is in place.
Engineering work could begin in September 2009 or more likely April 2010. This work can only be carried out at low water for a limited number of weeks each year and therefore the project is anticipated to take 2/3 years to completion.
